AWJ Systems is an Omani technology company specializing in AI and software delivery for government and enterprise. Through partnerships with national initiatives, we design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that support Oman’s digital transformation.
About the Role
The selected candidate will support Oman AI Studio, a national AI enablement initiative under MTCIT serving more than 17 government entities.
This is a hands-on senior role for an experienced professional who can architect AI solutions, deliver production-ready systems, and act as a trusted technical advisor to government partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions, from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
• Build and productionize LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, and intelligent automation workflows.
• Lead technical scoping and solution architecture for AI initiatives across partner ministries and authorities.
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models for real-world government use cases.
• Advise government stakeholders on AI strategy, feasibility, and responsible adoption.
• Establish best practices for model governance, data privacy, and AI ethics aligned with national standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal capability building.
• Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and reports for government stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Omani national with senior-level experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least six years of software or AI engineering experience, with demonstrated production AI deployments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and vector databases.
• Solid understanding of MLOps, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Experience integrating AI into web or enterprise applications and cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience delivering projects within government or public-sector environments.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as n8n and API integration.
• Experience providing stakeholder-facing technical advisory services.
• Knowledge of data governance and AI regulatory frameworks.
